One Book, One Town
One Book, One Town, the town wide event promoting literacy and community spirit, invites all residents to join us for our final celebration. Sponsored by the Friends of the Pompton Lakes Library, this initiative began in January and will culminate in a gathering in front of the library on Wanaque Avenue on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
Many elementary students from Lincoln and Lenox schools read Keep Your Ear on the Ball last spring. Older students and adults read Thunder Dog and joined discussions at the library. Both books deal with the real life stories of adjusting to life as a blind person and are available at the library for borrowing.
The Friends are delighted that Scott Santers and other families from the “I See For You Puppy Club” will join our September 8thcelebration. All are welcome to meet these puppies in training and see the valuable service they provide to people with disabilities.
Kids in attendance will get a One Book, One Town pencil and a special treat from the BID/Chamber of Commerce: a $5 BID buck for everyone!!
Mark your calendars and join us in celebration of reading in our wonderful town, Pompton Lakes.
